this is a really random post, but thought i'd post it anyway.
so at college, we've been given these "lanyards" for us to wear our ID cards round our necks, which as you can imagine, nobody is too pleased about. At the back of the lanyardy thing there's a safety catch (which rumour has it will break if someone tries to strangle you...).
It might be just me, but you know when you have a sudden urge to see how far you can bend something before it snaps? Like a flexible ruler? And you know you're reaaaaally going to regret it once it's snapped because then it's useless.
Well I did this to the safety catch. And my friends sat there telling me that I'd regret it. And funnily enough, I did. Because now, I have to wear this stupid thing round my neck tied at the back instead of a double knot. And it's annoying. I could just pay £1 to buy a new one, but I refuse on principle :p
My brother mentioned these sudden urge things the other day, and now they're really annoying me. Like when some randomer walks past you with a box/bag thing of chips, I have an urge to take one :/ which fortunately I never have. As that could be embarrassing. But yeah :) Just me?
The randomest blog post ever; sorry! x

ReplyDeleteIs "randomest" a word? I mean, I deferred to your linguistic prowess (due to your heritage [teacher mom and preacher dad], your nationality, and your great intellect and education) when I read the word "lanyardy." I was a bit suspicious when I read "randomer" (used as a noun), but again, I acquiesced to your obviously superior grasp on the Queen's English. It was "randomest" (an adjective) that pushed credulity a bit too far.
I am joking of course (in case it is not evident across the pond)! I truly enjoy reading your blog, Katya, and must admit that I too have strange "sudden urges"! Here's one: I sometimes want to just jump in a cold lake or stream during winter?! Not sure why.
Perhaps we're all just a little crazy!
I appreciate your love for God and his word. Continue to be a fool for the sake of Christ!
I definitely make a few words up :/ I do apologise! Although I use "randomer" quite a lot. But maybe "randomest" was pushing it, sorry!
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'm with you on the cold lakes/streams thing, but we had really fluffy snow last winter and I went on a walk with my sister and kept sitting down in the snow because it looked fluffy. But cold water, definitely not.
Thankyou:)
